“A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove…But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child…”
These words lead many people from many different countries in the world to devote themselves towards caring for the poor, the sick, the lonely and the needy. HOPE worldwide‘s mission is simple: to bring hope to a hurting world
Today our country faces hard times. It especially affects the lives of pensioners and orphans. As the situation becomes more dire so the need becomes greater and the underprivileged are forced to take to the streets to rely on the mercy of their fellow man as they beg for help. The streets and the subway tunnels are crowded with children and old people holding out their hands for alms. One can only wonder how a civilization that can send an e-mail across the world in a second can neglect the needs of their children and their elders.
People all over the Russia are suffering from a disease called hopelessness. It may start off with nothing more than the physical realization that there is not enough money to live on but as situations worsen the heart and soul of these victims of society begin to die. Hope is like a vaccination against the ills of giving up. A vaccination to fight the social, economic, and physical ills that are sweeping through our country at epidemic levels. We help because people need help.
However, money, charity programs and charity events can not solve all the problems. People need to feel loved and cared for. They need to be listened to, touched, encouraged and believed in. Our programs aren’t just designed to provide financial support. They are directed toward helping people regain their self esteem and realize their potential. We try to help people discover and develop their ability to help themselves, all the while offering them the love and support of a true friend. This can only happen when people help other people. It’s not the program or the organization that people will remember; it’s the people that cared enough to help.
Thousands of committed volunteers take part in the program. Among them are students and specialists in different areas. Their enthusiasm and responsible attitudes are the foundations of success.
