On October 20th, HOPE worldwide – Russia and the St. Petersburg Depatment of Education held an Annual Children’s Sports Festival of HOPE for children from orphanages all over Russia.

Participants: 800 orphans and disabled children from 20 orphanages.
Summary: The annual Children’s Sports Festival of HOPE is the biggest event of the year in the Day of HOPE, a monthly charitable program. It is the ONLY existing children’s holiday in Russia that gathers together over 7,000 orphans, disabled children, and volunteers. Over the years the HOPE Festival has unified the strength of the Government, Social Organizations, Business Representatives, and Volunteers in order to take care of Russian children who are in high risk situations.
Purpose of the program: to unify high risk children, to give them a memorable holiday, to popularize sports and a healthy style, and to help children meet new frinds among their peers and the volunteers. For many years the HOPE Festival has become a long-awaited holiday for the children.
